Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often does the bus run? During peak class times, most buses run every 5 to 10 minutes. Times may vary due to conditions (i.e. traffic, weather, classes). You can find out where the buses are in real time by clicking here.

  • How much does it cost? The service is prepaid by the student transportation fee. No passes or cash fares are necessary to ride the Campus Buses. Students are not required to show their ID on IU buses. However, they may be required to show their ID on Bloomington Transit buses.

  • Where do I park to catch a bus? E-Permit parking is available at the Indiana Memorial Stadium. Parking near gate 8 allows easy access to the A route and X route to campus. For more information on parking on campus, visit Parking Operations.

  • How do I let the driver know I want off? Each bus is equipped with a signal cord. Pull the cord to let the bus operator know you would like the next stop.

  • Why are there more buses on A route than B route? To effectively utilize Campus Bus's limited resources, the number of buses on any route is determined by ridership statistics. A route services many more people than B route.
